Most Expensive Primer in the World

Unless you are a grade school teacher in desperate need of a workbook, or are an ESL student -- be forewarned! I'm certain the information inside this text is excellent, but come on people. $100 to learn the difference between it's and its, which you should have learned in grammar school?! Not saying the content isn't good -- it's fine. It's the cost that is galling. This was a required text for me as a court reporting student, and I found the cost reprehensible.

I understand that this item was used and I understand that there is no guarantee on what you buy when you purchase online. But I think that if your going to charge $79.00 for a book that is used that you should tell the buyer that there is writing in the book I am very dissatisfied with the book that I have received and I will not purchase anymore

Very helpful Book..

.. More Ebay sellers should realise that they are marketing to customers, just as any Department store.
Recently browsing clothing on Ebay makes me wonder how serious some sellers are about selling their goods- badly photographed clothing hanging drunkenly half off the hanger,often creased and occasionally even grimy looking,no measurements, but half a page of instructions about what they want from the buyer..the sellers in some cases have either no clue about presentation or don't care. How many seconds does it take to straighten a hanger, or make sure the photo is in focus.
Personally I think for anyone who is serious about selling on Ebay, this little Book may encourage them to treat potential; buyers with a little more respect-start thinking about what the Buyer might want in exchange for his money, ,
, Ebay has changed some since this book was published, not sure if all the features Ms Connor talks about are still the same, but there are heaps of useful hints here to help rookie sellers get started,

I commend Strong on his practical appraoch and the real market focus of the text.

I like the use of pedagogical features in this book, including the graphs, tables, margin notes, and end-of-chapter questions and problems....The CFA material adds to the value of the book.

The engaging and fluid prose of the text is its strongest features. My students commented positively on the clarity of the text.

About the Author
Bob Strong is University Foundation Professor of Investment Education and Professor of Finance at the University of Maine. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Science degree in business administration from Boston University, and a PhD in finance from Penn State University. He has also been a visiting professor of finance at Maine Maritime Academy and at Harvard University, where he was Deputy Director of the Summer Economics Program from 1997-1999. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Dr. Strong has consulted on risk management and asset valuation for organizations such as Eastern Maine Healthcare, Bangor Hydro Electric Company, Maine Public Service Company, Energy Atlantic, the Maine State Police, the Maine Forest Service, Irving Oil, James W. Sewall Company, and Texas Instruments. He has been a conference speaker for the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade, and the American Stock Exchange. His current research interests center on investor asset allocation. In addition to four successful textbooks, he has published in journals ranging from the JOURNAL OF FINANCE and THE JOURNAL OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT to the trade journals PENSIONS & INVESTMENTS and FUTURES.

Great learning book

I am currently taking 3 stocks and bonds classes at the junior college, and this is the required book.

The book is actually very good, but unfortunately is out of print. I'm not sure why the publisher doesn't do a revision and new printing, as most of the book is up to date. It just needs a few updated tweaks and charts.

I am going to keep it for future reference...

This is a book about general concepts of investments but does not explain strategies. A disappointment though
not a surprise. May be it requires a second, third or tenth reading to really analyze and grasp a full understanding.
